Magical Bridge Morgan Hill

Located in Community Park, Magical Bridge Morgan Hill had its Grand Opening in 2022.

Like the original Magical Bridge in Palo Alto, this inclusive playground design invites players of all ages and abilities to enjoy this safe and accessible park. Created with the mission of bringing play opportunities to all, in particular the 25% of the population that has physical or cognitive disabilities, each Magical Bridge is divided separate play zones, each with a different emphasis. Kids can choose from a tot zone, spin zone, swing and sway zone, slide and climb one, music zone, kindness corner, or imagination zone (where our two-story wooden play structure and stage resides).

For this park, Barbara’s signature two-story Magical Bridge wooden play house has taken on a rustic vibe, with rectangular upper windows, cedar shingled rooflets, and a more natural palette. The faux wooden bracing framing the stage adds to the roughhewn feeling.

The first-floor theater space stands at the ready to host both community performers and impromptu skits put on by young park visitors. The wheel-chair friendly backstage means that all are welcome to live out their thespian dreams here. Sharing space with the backstage are two table set up for imaginative play. The colorful cake table inspires games of pretend pasty shop and the crate style seating allows plenty of room for friends with or without a wheelchair to play side by side.

Cecelia’s Closet & Food Pantry table is modeled after a local program providing food and clothing to those in need run by the non-profit Edward Boss Prado Foundation.

Head up to the second story via a series of gentle ramps for some coffee shop fun. Corner bench seats, coffee tables, and a hand-crafted wooden notebook and cell phone make it feel like a real café.
